Day 40

Data on Poverty, Hunger and Malnutrition in FTF Countries

Data on Poverty, Hunger and Malnutrition in FTF Countries

The Feed the Future (FTF) initiative, launched by USAID in 2010, established a data-driven approach to measuring poverty, hunger, and malnutrition across 20 target countries. Although the initiative has evolved, the need for comprehensive, nationally representative household data to inform analytics on food security and nutrition outcomes remains critical. This review identifies and catalogs the major household-level data sources available for each of the 20 former FTF countries over the past 20 years (2005-2026), covering demographic and health surveys, living standards measurements, nutrition assessments, food security analyses, agricultural surveys, and the FTF Zone of Influence (ZOI) population-based surveys themselves.
