The Feed the Future initiative collect population based surveys in 20 target countries fro over 15 years. These data were incredibly important to understanding how key indicators were evolving over time. The challenge however, is that the data were often messy and incredibly difficult to deal with. Additionally, my team was often asked "what can we learn from these data"?
Getting back to that mindset, I loaded all of the reports and some key publicly available data into claude to see what we could explore. While a few new streams were identified, I was most struck by the fact that Claude was able to undetstand much of the nuance across the data and reports. It was furthermore able to reproduce many of the numbers - but not all - in the report from the data.
